Before teaching English to migrant workers in the UK, Stuart spent several years
as a teacher of English for Academic and Medical purposes in Southern Asia and the Far East.
He was twice honoured for his work in The People's Republic of China.

After graduating with honours in Psycholinguistics from the University of Essex,
Stuart obtained further qualifications in Information and Communication Technology, TESOL and Applied Linguistics.
During the course of his studies, he pursued an interest in the use of
I C T as a language teaching resource.

A former mental health nurse, Stuart has a long-standing interest in the
language of psychosis and, as part of his undergraduate studies, made a
special investigation into
Language and Schizophrenia.
